Slickline Operator - (Edmonton)
Job Description
Reporting to management, the Slickline Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and competent execution of slickline field operations. Including, job planning and preparation, tool selection, trip management, equipment setup, rig-up and rig-out, and the operation of slickline units and pressure control equipment in a variety of well conditions.
Operators ensure work is in compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and safety standards. They must be fit for duty and demonstrate strong hazard recognition, risk assessment, and mitigation practices, particularly when working in the field.
Slickline Operators are responsible for field tickets, site-specific hazard assessments and operational documentation. They ensure equipment is properly inspected, maintained, and function tested, and are capable of troubleshooting issues to maintain safe and efficient operations.
Operators provide leadership by supervising, mentoring, and developing Operator Assistants and Trainees, ensuring all tasks are performed safely, competently, and in accordance with company standards. They are responsible for maintaining clear communication with crew members, customers, and management.
Slickline Operators actively participate in the company’s health and safety program, including hazard assessments, safety meetings, incident reporting, and required training.
